In addition to being the leader in supplying high quality surgical instruments, Saharan Trading Company is also involved in charity events to help the local community. Last July, Saharan Trading sponsored a charity cricket match which raised £500 for Bassetlaw Breastcare Appeal, a fund-raising campaign to improve and expand breastcare services at Bassetlaw Hospital.

The cricket match was organized on a warm, sunny day between medical staff from Bassetlaw Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary (DRI) at Everton's cricket club. It was a 25-over per side game between Bassetlaw Docs and DRI Docs, which was won by DRI Docs quite convincingly by a margin of 105 runs.

Bassetlaw Docs were lucky with the toss and chose to bowl first. They were not quite as lucky on the field as DRI Docs batted really well to score 169 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 25 overs with Dr Prasad Bandaru and Dr Athar Rabbani scoring bulk of the runs. DRI Docs followed up their excellent batting performance with an accurate bowling and good fielding display, bundling out Bassetlaw Docs for 64 runs in a crushing victory.
